PDO Threads Lexington
  We Lead Others Follow

For many years the only way to correct concerns caused by facial skin laxity, such as sagging cheeks, drooping jowls, and loose skin, was invasive procedures like neck lift or facelift surgery. However, many people are not ready to undergo a surgical facelift. Recently, an advanced and innovative anti-aging procedure specifically developed to lift and tighten facial skin has become available to patients seeking minimally invasive facial rejuvenation – the thread lift. Advanced Skin & Vein Care Centers provides the best PDO Threads services in Lexington and Georgetown KY. We use Nova Threads the only FDA approved PDO threads that are made in USA, Viola threads and Miracu threads.

The thread lift procedure uses temporary PDO threads, a type of dissolvable suture, which are placed under the facial tissues to produce a visible lifted effect. Threads take effect by repositioning and tightening the skin, and suspending it in place. PDO threads also stimulate the body’s natural healing process by promoting new collagen production in treated areas.

Advanced Skin & Vein Care Centers proud to be the first in Lexington to offer patients non-surgical facelift using FDA approved NovaThreads Miracu Threads and Viola Threads.

Nova Threads are injectable PDO threads that come in several shapes including twisted, smooth and barbed threads to treat a variety of facial areas and common concerns including skin laxity, jowls, fine lines, and facial wrinkles and folds. NovaThreads can also be used to subtly and naturally sculpt facial skin to enhance your natural features, such as creating the illusion of more prominent cheekbones, upturning the outer corners of the eyes for a cat eye effect, or even lifting the brows.

VIOLA PDO thread is a minimally invasive procedure that does not require general anesthesia nor big incisions. It is introduced into the deeper layers of the skin, and the helically molded barbs on the VIOLA PDO anchors onto the sagging tissue, and the thread is lifted upwards to achieve an instant, rejuvenating & contouring effect.

Dr. Ziad Sara a board-certified physician in Aesthetic Medicine is the first provider to introduce PDO threads to Lexington. Dr. Sara has unmatched extended years of experience in placing all types of threads like smooth Nova threads, twist, barbed, and Infinity.

What is PDO threads?

Thread lifts are a convenient 'lunchtime' facial rejuvenation alternative, that requires no general anesthesia, hospitalization or long recovery, and gives immediate results that continue to improve up to 2 months after the procedure. The volumizing effect lasts 18-24 months. They can be performed in various areas of the face and body line face (known as thread facelift), neck, arms, hands, abdomen, breast, buttock, forehead, and eyebrows (known as eyebrow thread lift) to target specific problem areas. The prices are more competitive than fillers and the results last much longer. Price depends on how many and what kind of threads are required. We offer free consultation to answer all your questions. Call 859-554-0519 for free consultation.

How many types of Threads are there?

PDO Threads, Silhouette Soft thread, PLLA and PCL Threads

Are PDO Threads the Same As PLLA and PCL Threads?

PDO threads are very different from PLLA and PCL threads. The three primary differences among these threads are the tensile strength, stiffness and durability. PDO, or polydioxanone threads, dissolve after only six to nine months. Contrastingly, PLLA, or Poly L. Lactic Acid threads, dissolve after 12 to 18 months. PCL, or polycaprolactone threads, are the most durable of the three. They take two to three years to dissolve fully.

What’s the Difference Between a PDO Thread Lift and a Silhouette Soft Thread Lift?

Both PDO thread lifts and Silhouette Soft thread lifts lift the skin. However, the distinctions between the two anti-aging treatments are important. PDO thread lifts are far more effective due to the nature of the treatment. Silhouette Soft thread lifts produce a volumizing effect by compressing the skin tissue. Moreover, PDO thread lifts are made of polydioxanone and use barbs to lift the skin. Contrastingly, Silhouette Soft threads are made up of PLLA threads and use cones to lift sagging skin.

Finally, because PDO threads are gentler on the skin, more threads are used during treatment than a Silhouette Soft thread lift. Thus, the skin is lifted higher and more comfortably.

Which Treatments Complement a PDO Thread Lift Best?

The best complementary treatments to your PDO thread lift depend on the results you’re looking to achieve. If you are extremely concerned about lines and wrinkles exacerbated by facial motions, neuromodulators work best. If you’re more worried about static lines and wrinkles, dermal fillers are the perfect complement for your PDO thread lift.

Care-giving Tips for Caring a Loved One After Thread Lift:

Bruises and unevenness

The treatment is mostly considered safe, but there are chances they will have some mild bruises a few days after treatment. Sometimes you will notice a minor hollow, bunching, or unevenness on their skin, but don’t worry because they are only temporary. Again, the thread lift rarely leaves severe infection. However, receivers, especially those who are provided with multiple threads, may experience some slight swelling and a slight feeling of tension at the lifted areas. Doctors can require them to take antibiotics to prevent infection.

Allergic reaction

There are some rare and minimal risks but they also need to your notice. If your loved one is allergic to the anesthetic then they may have some allergic reactions. Mild infections can occur right at the position they insert the thread. In case the thread leaves a pucker, ask the doctor for treatment and do not try to fix it yourself.

Problems with the thread

Thread lift may unfortunately leave scars on the skin. People will be advised to apply sun block regularly to avoid hyper pigmentation areas and exposure to the sun which can result in scarring. The first few weeks after procedure, it may be a little difficult for the treated areas to normally move. Keep their body relax and chill to boost the healing process.

Recovery time

As with any treatment, every emerging abnormal signs should be reported to the doctor for solutions. Do not worry because the recovery time after a thread lift is short. It lasts for about a few resting days but it is better consulting with an expert for accurate period.

New look

After treatment, your loved one will have strange feeling about their new look. No matter how their appearance is, stay beside and let them know that there are always solutions for any problem after treatment. Keeping them think positively is important since good emotions play as effective recovery boosters.
